On certain Apple Silicon MacBook Pro models manual fan control is limited by Apple: it will only take effect once the system activates the fan(s) itself, that is, when it determines that cooling is necessary. Before that the fan(s) remain off. The app still remains useful to keep system from overheating and throttling during lasting CPU/GPU intensive tasks.

We actively exploring potential solutions to bypass these limitations. However, it’s important to note that Apple’s design for these new models might restrict what third-party software like ours can do. We’ll keep investigating but want to be upfront about the challenges we face with these newer models.
